Why come to this two-day seminar?
This seminar has been developed with the aim of providing information on the implementation of Kaizen and Lean methodology and, using examples from Adizes’ practical experience, of inspiring both those encountering these methodologies for the first time, and those already applying them in their business. How to tackle problems when making improvements, where more complex processes are involved? Why do results fall short of those planned for and expected in the implementation of Kaizen and Lean tools? How to maintain results achieved? How to adapt the Kaizen and Lean tools to our own company in order to analyse and eliminate wastage and reduce costs in a systematic way?
Participants will have the chance to test the applicability of the methods and techniques presented, both through practical exercises and real-world examples, and through the example analysis and improvement, using MDC mapping, of a chosen process from their company..
The goals and benefits of this seminar
The primary purpose and benefit of the workshop is for participants to be given an insight into the possibilities for improving the process they manage, and the day-to-day jobs they perform, with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of the company, increasing employee productivity and client satisfaction, shortening cycle times, reducing costs and assets used and improving flexibility and response to change.
Managers from all areas who want to learn about methodologies for improving processes and acquire a basis for their implementation.
Mapping processes in production and services and defining potential improvement points
Getting a clear picture of processes, in which activities that create value and activities that do not are clearly segregated
Establishing a system for monitoring the movements of products and documentation with the aim of reducing bottlenecks and lead times.
How to organise space effectively
How to build more effective working methods?
How to establish flexible process as a response to frequent changes (SMED, MDC)
Team-based problem-solving and establishing continuous improvement using Kaizen teams
Raising expectation levels among employees as a prerequisite for increasing company competitiveness
Methods and techniques participants will learn about during the seminar:
5S – Organising the work space using the 5S principles
MDC (Method Design Concept) mapping processes and procedures – redesigning the method with a focus on reducing or eliminating activities that do not create value: i.e. waste.
Lean workflow chart and SIPOC
Analysis of activities – a technique for observing and analysing tasks statistically
JIT – Just in Time – the right materials/information, in the right quantities, at the right time
Kanban – monitoring and managing processes
Poka Yoke – eliminating the causes behind errors using techniques, procedures and devices that prevent them
MTM – Method Time Measurement
Workplace ergonomics
Fishbone / 5 Why – a method for seeking and defining causes and effects
Visual management – tools for visualising the workplace and processes
SMED – a method for bringing in rapid changes to a process
Value Stream Mapping – mapping the flow of value through the process
Approaches to identifying bottlenecks, causes of delays, errors and return of goods in the course of the process
